PTPs are known to be CC signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes CC including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and CC oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular CC region containing five fibronectin type III repeats, a single CC transmembrane region, and a single intracytoplasmic catalytic CC domain, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP.
