A non-redundant catalog of PTP sequences that provides a tool for structure-function studies and for annotation of homologous proteins in newly sequenced genomes.

Databases of vertebrate AND non-vertebrate PTP sequences 

Annotation of an exhaustive PSI-BLAST search (August 2004) of the nr database using PTP1B as query. The search retrieved 1093 GenBank accession numbers representing PTP domains from 61 species and five phyla. Exclusion of redundant sequenecs revealed 601 unique PTP domains, including 123 D2 domains.
